Hi all,
I've got a pergola made of Oragon Beams.
Sealed and painted.
And the joints (about 5 out of 20) where they meet have rotted. I'm sure its just where the water hasn't been able to dry properly.
I'm told the beams have been there for 21 years.
I'm also told the Oragon is light and very sound as a structural beam.
Is there an easy way to repair these as I'd like to renovate by removing them completely (for immediate safety sake) if the expence is too high.
My thought is to simply repair the beams with another short piece of Oragon and use an overlaping joint. The beams will not be supporting any weight and will be sealed and painted.

Thanks,
