Hi, I'm hoping for some suggestions about how to go about achieving the look of painted floorboards. We've just bought an apartment with about 50 square metres of carpet, with a concrete slab underneath. I love the look of painted floorboards, and am wanting to know if (and where) I can get floating floors that are not treated, so I can paint them myself. I've read in a few places that paving paint is the way to go, and from my understanding, no sealing/polishing is necessary after painting. I don't even know if this is a possibility!!? My boyfriend and his mates are tradies, so they can probably lay the floor. Also cost effective suggestions if possible. We're in Melbourne. Thanks heaps!

Try a company and their product called BIG RIVER TIMBER> Look up the web. They have raw floaters.

Thanks for your suggestion. I called Big River Timbers, and they do have raw floating floors. He said it would be a shame to paint over them! Do you know if there is a cheaper/maybe not so attractive or popular wood, as I'm painting over it anyway. Also, if anyone knows of anywhere else that sells raw floaters, so I can compare costs. Thanks a lot!
