Hi there,
I'm having a false ceiling (to cover a vermiculite ceiling) put in and had an electrician say to leave a minimum of 110mm ceiling void. The installer of the false ceiling has only left 80mm before the plaster goes on.
I had a look at some websites and found a thorn electronic transformer 60W that only requires 60mm ceiling void.
I have measrued the globes and there will probably be about 20 to 30mm above the wires to the existing vermiculite ceiling. The rooms are quite large but I am a bit worried about heat build up.
Just wondering if anyone has had expereince fitting the 50W low voltage downlights in areas of small voids.
Will be a huge job for him to adjust the height as all the aluminium channels have been put in and levelled :(
Any ideas.
I know the transformer should be mounted 20mm atleast away from the globe
Thanks
Gazza
