Hope someone can help.
Using Windows XP Pro SP2
Internet Explorer 6

Problem 1

Now sudenly when I click the centre mouse button (wheel) on the Microsoft optical wheel mouse, a little circle appears which then enables the window to scroll up and down my moving the cursor up and down.

I have the centre mouse button configured to activate Babylon Pro, which now will not come up, anywhere, in any program using this button (it did up until last week, and as far as I know, nothing has been installed on the computer since it last worked. I can still activate Babylon Pro using the [F10] key !!!

I have tried to re-install the driver, and have checked all my 'Mouse' settings

Problem 2

How do I fix the problem, that whenever I get onto this forum, the window opens up at a small size, ie about 3" * 1"
I have enlarged the window, opened a new window, closed the original, saved the window size settings using the shift + X when closing, which appears to fix it in the current session, but if I close down IE and reopen it, the problem returns ??

Hope a 'guru' out there can assist

Try uninstalling the mouse, turn off/on the computer.
It will reconize new hardware and install the drivers for it.

Problem 2

I had a similar problem last year after we installed SP2, and while I am by no means a computer guru, I installed Mozilla Firefox and dispensed with Explorer altogether, no more problems. You can download it for free from their website, the exact address escapes me at the moment, just type in Mozilla.

I've done the same, and the window sizing problem does not exist in Firefox, but persists in IE. May have to try and 'learn' Firefox

BTW Al, uninstalling the mouse and rebooting, fixed the centre mouse button issue, Thanks ;-)

Changing Microsoft Internet Explorer Default Window size:
To set the default size of new Internet Explorer window (when we click on "Open in New Window):

1. Open any Internet Link in new Windows and resize this new window.

2. Hold down the Shift key and close the window.

Better still, go for GooglePack and pick out what you want. Some really good things included.
