It is with much regret  that I inform you all that I will be taking six months leave of absence from 3rd July, and slowly, very slowly, heading up to the Daintree and back. This will be sprinkled with a lot of doing nothing, a bit of photography, feeding the fish ;) , and generally conserving energy. We will be taking in a bit of the Atherton Tableland as we have not been there since 1966. Where possible I will look in from time to time to see how people's work is coming along and to view any blood sport that may be taking place. We expect to be back by Christmas :D .

I haven't yet received your Leave Of Absence form in quadruplicate.
As you are aware, if this form is not lodged 30 days prior to your departure then that leave is no longer available.
You can lodge another LOA but there is no guarantee that this will be approved.;) :D
You have fun now. Great area.

Welcome to QLD - no visa or passport required - just good sense of humour - a love of the laid back lifestyle - an appreciation of beautiful weather etc etc etc...............
You'll be back in Sydney in 6 months ----- You will be sorry after having seen the light.

Bob has made it to Cairns & bugger it, I'm not there.
I just spoke to him on the phone, he's in a book shop & reckons it could be dangerous.
He's doing the tourist bit over the next 2 days, I might be able to catch up with him Friday.... I told him to watch out for stingrays. ;)
From here he is going further north but will be coming back & staying up here on the Tablelands for a while, hope to catch up with him again then too.

Bob has not long left here, (Cairns office) called in for a cuppa & a yarn.
Gave him a look around at the shop & shed, loaned him a book to read over the next 2 weeks & plan to catch up with him again in 2 weeks up on the tablelands.

We spent 6 weeks up that way at the beginning of this year awesome stuff.
We stayed at River Home Cottages in Daintree.
Barney the bloke that owns it does a great home brew beer.

I caught up with Bob yesterday, he and his better half dropped by for a cuppa and a yarn and of course, tour of the shed. Photographic evidence attached.

Hi Mick
His better half must be the one on the right 'cos the other one is wearing glasses and so can see who they are going with. Ah well, two ugly old burgers like that deserve one another. :D

Hee Hee
that reminds me of when my wife had our first baby and she applied to take her 3months maternity leave at half pay over six months.
Told she couldnt do that. So she put in for one week leave, one leave without pay, one week leave, one leave without pay for the next six months;)
You have fun now. Great area.
