How do you tell the difference between good quality tiles and poor quality tiles?

You might find a shop where good quality tiles are going at a bargan price while poor qulaity tiles ar overpriced.

Once did a kitchen with tiles form a action house(Fowles). Within a year they started to lift. Seems they can grow???? Found out they were discontinued by the company for that reason and they were replacing those that were bought through the correct channels. Point is Fowles should never have been selling them they should have been scrapped.

I guess there is nothing like buying and trying but I would prefere to know before I bought them whether they are any good or not.
