If you need to drill just a couple of holes in plaster, masonry or even wood in a place that is meant to be reasonably clean ie inside your house, and can't be fagged dragging out the vacuum cleaner every time to pick up the dust then next time try this.
Get a couple of pages of newspaper or one of those junk mail advernewspapers flyersand liberally wet the first page under the tap. Wait for the water to soak through and make sure it is quite damp, not saturated, just damp.
Fold the paper appropriately and hold the damp paper at an angle under the drill so that the dust falls at an angle onto the damp newspaper. if you get the dampness and the angle right for your situation the bulk of it will stick to the damp paper. Chuck the paper and dust in the bin
OK you won't get all the dust but if you are careful you should get most of it, enough hopefully to keep the other half happy.
