Hi all,

I'm mid reno and am having trouble matching some 1960's cypress pine floorboards. We moved some doorways and need to replace existing polished boards. They are approx 102mm wide by 21mm thick with a 4mm tongue. All I've found so far are 98mm boards with a 6mm tongue. The toungue I can deal with but the width of the board is an issue as I only need to replace 8 boards. Any tips on sourcing older boards?

Thanks

Rich

Rich you may get lucky and I hope you do, try "Building Materials Secondhand" in the yellow pages and let your fingers do the walking
Kurri used building supplies ( Newcastle) sometimes get similar , bit of a way to travel though , they are at 02 49371077
As I said best of luck.

What Ashore said, then if no luck you could run them up yourself out of 125mm cyprus. Do a rough rip cut, then use a router with guide to get an exact size, then run a groove with an appropriate size slot cutter. You may have to fiddle to get the first new board to fit the old one, but the new ones should fit to each other OK. A bit of mucking about, but it will solve your problem & is cheaper than having them run by a mill.

Thanks Ashore and Carpenter. I'll be doing some ringing around before tackling ripping some down myself methinks.
