Help with skirting board gaps

Hi, I'm after some advice on whether I need to call someone in to take a look at my skirting boards in the kitchen.

Our house is only a year old and we have gaps appearing between the board and the wall and also a little between the board and the floor tiles.

I'm wondering if this can be caused by water damage as on the other side of the wall is the ensuite shower and no where else in the house are there gaps - only around this area - and we have had some minor plumbing leaks with the taps in each room.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Write a polite note to the builder and ask him to come by and have a look.
If you did get a licensed builder to build the house for you, you are covered by waranty for 2 years on that sort of stuff, and 6 years for anything structural. If it is a shower leaking, you should be covered by the structural 6 year waranty. Also, if it is the shower, don't accept any method of fixing it, which involves a topical spray over the tiles. This is a stopgap measure. The job needs to be done properly, by removing tiles, and re-doing the waterprooofing. (that is if it is the membrane/tray leaking) A common problem with shower installs is not actually the tray failing, but rather the tap body leaking behind the wall. Another problem is when the shower rose sprays on the tap fitting, and runs down inside the wall behind the tap flange. Both of these can be sorted easily.
I've done a million of them over the years, and there is a lot more to it, so get some more replies here, and if you still need more info.... post again, and I'll write some more.
A photo of the problem would be good as well, as I am assuming that it is probably the shower, when it could be something far less sinister.
