pergola repairs

have some small rotted pieces on pergola roof timbers( 170x45 oregon)(got shade cloth on) where the battens were nailed on if i cut the rotten bits out and glue in some sound timber ( aprrox 75mm long x 25deep) and repaint will that last. thoughts on a good outdoor glue maybe sicaflex

Replace all Oregon with treated pine would be the simplest, Oregon doesn't really like being exposed to the weather. Alternatively, get rid of the shade cloth, paint the bejesus out of it and then cover again with Laserlite or similar.
