Hi Guys,

I've just put up a new front fence (previously was just bolders and plants) and the edge of the footpath is uneven and leaves approx 100mm gap between the fence and the footpath. I want to fill this in so that I don't get weeds etc... growing if I leave it just dirt.

What sort of concrete mix should I use to fill this in?

Cheers

cement and 10mm concrete blend 3:1. You'd get away with 4:1 or 5:1 but I only use 3:1, after all cement's cheap. If you want convenience and high cost, by readymixed concrete in a bag.

Thanks Michael

I have a couple of bags of ready mix leftover somewhere, maybe I can just use that. What I found with that though was the rocks were quite big and was difficult to get the surface smooth?

There's a couple of different types. Postcrete has ungraded gravel so you could have bigger ones in it, readymix concrete has graded gravel, maybe you have the postcrete?
