Don't think I'm going to make it this year. Too much going on down here at the moment. Got no money left either... :(

I am unfortunately in the same boat as Silent, having spent my tool allowance(play money) on books from Amazon, tools from Kiama woodshow and needing to save before attacking Lee Valley again. I think I'll stick to going every second year.

To everyone whom attends have fun and hope you find the right toys for the right price:)

I'm planning to go on the Saturday. I, like Pat and SilentC, have spent my tool allowance but I'm still going to enjoy taking a look.

I can't go on a weekday. Well actually I could, but it would be nightmare stuff. I quit work almost three years ago to look after my kids, my wife was earning way more than me, and so if I go during the week it will involve dragging a 3-year old and a 2-year old along with me. Not something I'm prepared to contemplate. I'll go on Saturday and my wife can look after the kids.

Fellas, being poor is not a good reason to miss the show. Just think about the fellowship.

Staying at home won't make you any richer.

Yes it will with petrol prices up around $1.40 down here.

Fuel was $1.39/l in Sydney this morning, so you're not that special Silent, you get ripped off just as much as us city folk.
Wouldn't mind going to the show and looking at thicknessers, just have to see what the Treasurer hands down in the next budget - and whether I am identified in the 'coalition of the willing' or the 'axis of evil'

silentC

If it's $1.39 up there it will be at least 10 cents more down here...

I see.

I met a bloke the other day that had a "fellow" who drove him.

He has a "chap" to do most other things but a "fellow" to drive.

I'd be happy just to have a "chap' to stand in line to buy my train tickets for me.

Cheers,

P (who mostly has a "pilot" anyway)

Hey silent, isn't your employer keen to know that you still exist?

silentC

They've been paying me, so I suppose that's something.

I am overdue for a trip up to head office but what with building the house and other stuff, I just can't afford to lose a week. Tempting as it is to drive 6 1/2 hours up there, sleep on someone's sofa bed for a week, catch buses to and from the city every day and then drive 6 1/2 hours home...

But then there is the beer.

You're just soft.
Me? I've got a real excuse this year.
No not that nobody likes me one, I used that one last year. Only Boban talked to me and that was because he was scheming to sell me his jointer. I wish he'd schemed a bit harder cause now I wouldn't be looking for a thicknesser.
Any one want to drive to Kempsey pick up one invalid and wheel chair drive home pamper said invalid overnight arrange a party of woodies, provide lots of red wine to sample. Drink till the wee small hours attend woodshow meet with Scott and drink jasmine tea push invalid around show in wheelchair, organise delivery of thicknesser etc.etc.:D

I think they're quite happy not to see me. Let's face it, if you were my boss, wouldn't you be?

Scott, I am both pancake poor and Time poor, with organising the Surf Club presentation night for the Saturday too. I may relent and do a quick attack on the Friday, depending on MBGitW's health at the time.

I like to go with plenty of pancakes because there is always toys that I must have and it is torture not to be able to get them!

So I am now an official maybe!;)

My wife Debbie:)

Everyone else uses SWMBO, Financial Controller, Minister for War etc. I'm just a little bit different( OK very different, before the smarties get in on the act) and used a respectful  acronym.

Makes up for all the times I am away drinking at the Surf Club (Snot!!!:D )

It maybe a subjective comment, but I married the girl and she allows me to by toys(tools) when I want/afford to. I maybe able to swindle some more play money out of her for the show, to cover the train fare and entry :D :D :D

Just got to be good for the next month ;)
