There are many threads on this forum that could really be called how to do it lessons on particular woodie areas. The latest one is by apricotripper on shooting boards.
Most of these classy threads (perhaps sometimes with some minor editing) lend themselves to packaging up as PDF's so that a downloadable library of articles is freely available to everyone. Its a lot easier to keep interesting topics on your own computer in pdf files than as offline webpages.
Lets face it a online library with a good index might even be a lot easier to locate info in than the actual forum threads (which can go way off topic).
WATCHA ALL THINK ?:)

Yep.
That was what I was getting at with my buildalong forum idea.
I am all for it. Also, it would be a good place for newbies to start looking - as you say, sometimes the answer you are looking for isn't in an obvious heading.

Agreed Bob.
I must say when I see an interesting and informative post, I often cut & paste the content into a Word document and save it locally.

Spot on, Bob, this is the essence of what the Best of the Best should be I reckon, easily accessible info.
I see what you mean with the PDF idea, to make it easier to archive on our own computers, is there much to doing that do you know?

With the right software, making a PDF is as easy as printing - in other words it always goes wrong! :p ;)
Seriously, it is easy.

I expect there'd be much more time involved editing out the totally off topic ans irrelevant stuff than in just making the pdf which is very easy.

True, but I don't think that was the question? Maybe.

A lot of the 'buildalong' threads are headed WIP - Work - in - Progress. Putting them in a group would make scanning them kinda fun.

Check this thread from 2003.

Also, don't miss this para from Neil
By the way if you are thinking about setting up a FAQ page of your own using the info in these forums don't forget that all the info included in these forums is the Copyright of U-Beaut Enterprises, making it legally the property of U-Beaut Enterprises.
I would think that that would cover PDF files of "buildalong" threads too.
Just my opinion of course.

That is how it should be.
