Works every time: Drink less.
If you know anyone with medical connections, a few whiffs of medical oxygen works wonders...

Big, greasy breakfast: bacon, fried egg, sausages, tomatoes, baked beans, toast and coffee. The first two mouthfuls are hard to take but after that you will (guaranteed) start to feel better.
Know how you feel, mate! Been there, done that. Uggghhhh!

Yeap, what driver says with a big glass of Sparkling Shiraz. ;)
PS. A couple of breaths of pure oxygen also helps but don't over do it.

Of course if the thought of wolfing down all that bacon, sausage etc is a bit too much, try the short cut: a nice warm cupful of pork grease. There! Doesn't that make you feel better already?

Alcohol doesn't cause hangovers, it's sleep, I felt alright when I went to bed.
What a sympathetic pack of bastards, although warm pork fat sounds good, but I would add a couple of raw eggs.

I'm probably too late to help, but I have it on reliable authority that the best way to prevent hangover, is never sober up.
On the other hand, one of my colleagues always recovers with a toasted ham, cheese, tomato, dimsim and potato scallop sandwich with barbecue sauce.
Cheers,
P

Well i dont know about hangovers, having never suffered from one despite my decadent habits, but the best cure for sea sickness is to sit under a tree:D

OK, it seems that I may live to do it again. Fritz and sauce sangers, iced coffee, a snooze, black aspro (Coke), paracetamol and a large dollop of self loathing seem to have sped me on my way to recovery.... many thanks gentlepersons.... I think I shall now sleep some more.

Too much alcohol in the body causes the body to produce aldehydes, which neutralize the alchol. Once all the alcohol has been taken care of, you are left with too many aldehydes in the body which causes a hangover and you fell ####house.
Aldehydes will slowly disappear agin as the body takes care of them but to neutralize aldehydes, take some alcohol. True, that's why the hair of the dog works. But take just enough to help neytralize the aldehydes and no more. Otherwise you have excess alcohol again and guess what, the body starts making aldehydes again. It's fact, trust me, I failed biology 4 years running. :D (two at Melb Uni so it was no fluke  :D )
Also, drink plenty of water while getting . Take two large panodol BEFORE going to bed. It's works.

Good advice al, and probably why i dont get hangovers. Like you, I work outside in the heat so im conscious of keeping the fluids and electrolytes up to myself all day when working and whether or not ive had a few drinks of an evening i drink a fair bit of water before going to bed. works for me;)

I have found a couple of pieces of toast before bed are a very good thing, or hot chips, or a cheese sandwich and a couple of glasses of water,
Hope you are feeling better now.

What about the hot dog from the footpath vendor?
You're so busy being sick from the salmonella that you don't notice the hangover. :D They go down a treat at the time though. DAMHIK :D
(Actually they've been banned in Sydney for a long time now. Don't know about the other states though)

If they've got rid of the hot dog vendors, where are they getting their drugs ?
