Wrong
It's half twice it's length:D
A good question all the same. How many people ask you to make a book case that is a good height not too wide but tall enough to take all their books?

It is exactly 3,405 mm long (at room temperature)

Damn Skew ChiDAMN!! DAMN!!
I just remeasured it and you are correct. Sneaky bit of string turned sideways. OK, a piece of string is now EXACTLY 3.792mm long by 3,405 mm wide.

Hang on!
You're all wrong. It's 50% longer than 2/3rds of the distance from one end. I know because I've just measured it.
Col
(By the way, I had to cut bits off to get an accurate measurement so if anyone wants a small bagful of bijou stringettes, lemme know!)

No no no. It's 300% of 1/3 of the distance from the right hand end. It's 50% longer than 2/3rds the distance, only from the left hand end.

Not if you can measure em from any old end. Not up to my usual high standards. Peddle your wares to the craporium...:p

From an atheist: I don't believe in string
From an architect: tie it in a loop and it'll be as long as it needs to be.
From an engineer: it doesn't meet minimum spec. Replace it with a bit of rope!

The length of a piece of string is exactly twice the distance from the center to one end.
