Bit late but time to share it, last weekend had to take a horse out for the day, on the back of the Landcruiser I have an adjustable tow hitch which decided to work a little loose and move so the float wouldn't sit properly.
Not a problem, go to the back to pull out the jack to 'adjust' it back again and re tighten, you can't move this thing by hand and if it's too loose you can't hold it steady enough to tighten up.
Problem, where the hell is the jack???
SWMBO comes along to see what is happening so I ask if she has seen it.
Oh, the funny looking red thing, yeh, thats the one, it was dirty so I took it out and put it in the shed.
Bloody hell, managed to borrow one off someone else.
Get home, go to the shed, yep, theres the jack................and the wheelbrace, why is the wheelbrace in the shed, well, I've never seen you use it so I took it out, ye Gods.
Where is the lever for the jack?, what does it look like, two little brown metal tubes with a rubber band around them, Oh them, I thought they were rubbish and threw them out.
Spent a wonderful afternoon fabricating a new handle for the jack, re installing the jack and wheelbrace in the car and wondering what the hell else is missing that was the wrong colour or whatever.
No doubt I will find out when something goes wrong under the car on a wet night.

One day you will be driving along and wondering why the car is making REALLY bad noises. It breaks down horribly and you go in and ask...
"Well, the car had oil leaking from it, so I drained the entire engine and disposed of the nasty stuff..."

Not like a Mitsubishi then...if that isn't dripping oil, the sump is empty:p Modelled on a Triumph engine so I've heard...:D.
Iain, that is a doozie of a yarn, will share it with my wife!

I managed once to see in the bin all my papermate pens SWMBO "cuz the refills were empty they should be thrown away." Thank goodness I saw them because amongst them was my solid silver pencil "Christening present" from a hundred years ago passed on through the family - why - cuz it had no lead in it and it was looking a bit dull - as silver does!!
I don't know what else has disappeared - time will tell. There were many other things there in the bin that day cherished and saved for memories sake at least but gee they had a great clean up
Thank goodness the shed has a lock on it - I do say whenever she offers to clean up in there that any thing gone will give me the opportunity to replace it with the much bigger one I would rather have :D

I'm still finding out what my 2nd ex threw out:mad: . Going through my old photo albums I noticed there were a lot less photos than there used to be. When I rang her, she admitted throwing any photo with "someone else" out:mad:  , even though I had only kept the ones with my kids (I don't have many, the 1st ex got them:( ).
I remember coming home from work one night a few years back when we were together to find the mantle piece empty:eek: , normally covered with tropies for myself and my kids (bowling, fishing, martial arts etc) - she had thrown them all out because she didn't have any:confused: . The garbos had been, they were gooone for ever:eek:  .

Many years ago, I went into the factory on a Saturday to do a stocktake. SWMBO came along for the drive and decided to take the opportunity to clean my office for me. It looked great but all I wanted to do was get out of the place and go home so I didn't pay too much attention to what she'd done.
Come Monday morning, I walked into the office, sat down and realised to my horror that she'd torn off the top sheet of my big desk pad and left me with a nice BLANK sheet. All my notes, phone numbers, things to do etc., etc., g..o..n..e

Not long after i got married my wife did something similar. I had a commodore and she had a kingswood when we got together. we had moved to darwin with the army and had a son, so i used to take her kingswood to work so she could drive my airconditioned commodore and be more comfortable with the baby.
Well the day i got a flat tyre i opened the boot and there was no wheelbrace. Why, you may ask? Cos she put it in the commodore with the rest of my tools:mad:

no she did better than that, but it was before i met her. her car had an oil leak and she was sick of checking it and topping it up every day so tshe filled it right up to the top.........:D :D :D :D (that was funny cos i didnt have to pay for it)

hmmmm my STUPID EX HTTHSBO took the cake i hate not being able to change tyres my self and he couldnt work out why i did a lot of things but thats another story i come from a practical family where my dad was a mechanic and he made sure that we could change tyres sparkplugs ect make sure oil water ect where all done ,
some rabbit assured my ex that the new tyres had been put on with just a normal tyre wheel brace , so there is me trying to change tyre on side of tullamarine freeway just past bell st exit , in little black dress and high heels when i find out some stupid excuse of a tyre fitter has used the airgun on them .... my friend walked back and rang another male friend of ours to come get us outa twubble and i was still cursing that %^&*)_ tool of a man who did something so stupid .
tyre was changed and we took off back to the place that the tyres where fitted and he copped a very grumpy me and a huge stream of verbal abuse ever since im podantic about making sure the tyres are only ever hand finished with a brace as i never wanna be in that situation ever again .
Happy Easter all we are off camping and its going to be wonderful .... no kids no phones no stress cheers jules
