did anyone see the collectors on the abc friday night they had a bloke who collected wooden guns hand made by another bloke that actually worked all parts where made of wood and exact replicas of the real thing had bullets oil bottles everything made from wood the work was really unbelieviable
must take a lot of skill and time to do and make

FAsinating Stuff.........................As the collector said there priceless!!! N I think he knows it too!!!
What was astounding is that they are fully functional replicas!!! that do everything bar fire off the projectile!!! was a great show tonight what got me was the old bird that had the sofa in her garage that auctioned for over $250 000 unbelieveable!!!!!

I already have some of those. I think making a gun out of wood would be a lot of fun.

Does this mean that any material that is the shape of a firearm needs a license?
So if I make a cardboard cutout gun that looks fairly realistic then I need a license for it?

You're pretty much on the money Bob, if it looks like a gun it can be deemed illegal, especially if used in the perpertration of a felony, or as a means of intimidation or threat.
I had a villain in my charge at one time who was a male stripper, he got done for a plastic replica he used in his act when dressed (for a little while anyway) as a copper, that was in Queensland but I'm sure if they wanted him it could happen here too.

Well this is going to make it really tough on kids playing cowboys and indians. I hope to see lots of the little villians up on charges soon.
