well am haveing to put a deck under a exsiting roof about 5 mt by 3.5 am thinking of just pine decking as its only a rental hse and if it lasts 10 yrs will be happy
now i was just thinking of putting a c channel ? ( steel c shaped beam ) down each side the 5 mt sides back of hse bolted onto
steel verandah posts oppisite and the steel stumps of hse
then would i need another row of stumps in middle ie in the centre of the 3.5 gap for support
the bearers would be bolted to the c channel
i was then going to put ( bearers ?) from front to back at what ? distantance apart then nail the decking across that ?

what size bearers would be best
is this ok or am i being to simple doing it this way ??

can you post a sketch with dimensions of what you're planning, I've a rough idea but I'm not entirely clear on it.
