Hi

For the new place I want to have the carport under a timber deck.

What do I line the underside of the deck with to stop the rain coming through?

Thanks

Dazzler.

A small section of my workshop is under the outside verandah and I lined the underside with battens of various thickness to give the necessary slope for rainwater to run of against which I screwed (from underneath) some corrugated fibreglass sheets.

Make sure you screw through the top corrugation and not the bottom one. You can also use corregated iron sheets but I wanted some light to filter through.

Maybe zinc alum trimdeck, a bit cheaper than fibreglass and will last better.

If the deck has a slight fall then you could seal the gaps with black Sikaflex. It comes out looking like a boat deck (and if it doesn't, wait a few weeks and scrape it with a tungsten scraper - it comes out looking like a boat deck.;) )
