Fair go, we have yet to play badly. We're the utter best. No need for panic. Nothing needs to be changed. We can loose this series 5-0 without an effort, no worries.

Yup, let's sack everyone.

With the series level at 2-2, Australia just batted first in the decider. They just got 4/434 of their 50 overs. The highest ever ODI score by 36 runs. Those Australians are just a bunch of hacks that are well past their use by dates. Time for some new blood.

Beat me to it by half a sec Grunt old chap... of course if Hayden had been there, we may have hit 500.

Why is it all you knockers, take the score one match at a time instead of a series at a time?

Keep knocking them, eventually you'll be able to say you told us so!

South Africa win the greatest game
Australia powered to a world-record total of 434 for 4 - the first 400-plus score in the game's history ... and still lost

YEP!!

Must have been some match! I reckon there'll be a few drawn test matches now!

I couldn't get to sleep so I wondered out to check out the score. SA needed 150 with 13 overs to go. Had to stay up and watch. Just a fantasitc game. Worth the no sleep.

Ponting bowled Mick Lewis for all 10 overs and he went for 11 an over. Lee bowled 8 at 8 an over. Why?

They showed a shot of Lewis after his spell. He was a broken man. I don't know if he'll play again. Confidence shattered.

While it was an exiting game because of the close finish, SA won on the second last ball with a wicket in hand, the pitch was so flat it made the bowlers look like grade cricketers. It took something from the game, IMO.

I watched every ball and thought it was fairly boring up until the last few overs. The pitch gave the bowlers absolutely nothing.

Once again Ponting loses the seemingly unloseable...

Watched the whole game. What an exiting finish.
What irked me though was the one-sided commentary by Tony Greig and Barry Richards. These guys left South Africa more than 30 years ago and now reap the benefits that Australia provides them. What charlatans they are !!!!!

What irked me though was the one-sided commentary by Tony Greig and Barry Richards.

I could hear Richards in the background several times commenting on "who the chokers are now", which I thought was disgusting. No one choked in the game (except the groundsman) it was a well and hard fought contest on a shyte tabletop pitch.

Maybe it's just that Gumby has been on long service leave, I don't know, but we haven't heard from the knockers of the "it's a well known fact that without McGrath they won't get anywhere, and the Captain isn't worth a pinch, and why are Hayden and Symonds there anyway" best team in the world!d

I'm just wondering how you guys feel:

It's a well known fact that Hayden, Sideshow Bob and all their Qld mates are in South Africa, not because of their cricketing ability, but so the Qld Shield team would be nobbled yet again, which explains why they (Qld) got tired and had to declare at 900, instead of going on with it once they had made a start, but it doesn't explain Matt's 50 something and 100 odd average for the first two tests?

And as for Ponting's miserable display as captain.... oh well he's won another series, but he's still pathetic...

Tell me about it chaps, come on tell me how it all works!

GO QUEENSALND!!!

Cricket is boring as, but I'll always stick up for the home side - whatever sport. :)

CameronPotter

Midge you forget... who was captain when the game ended? Gilchrist of course! :p

Also, I doubt that many people would be calling for Matt's place to be revoked now... (but then I have always been a Hayden fan).

Finally, if you are wondering about Symonds place in the side, well I am happy to stand up and say that while he SHOULD be a good test player (as he is an awesome one day player) he should be replaced by Watson who made a tiny little double ton. So nevermind, he is a Queenslander too...

Finally, while we are b!tching about selection etc. How can Bichel keep on being overlooked. I mean, he is never going to get picked again for the Aussies, but for goodness sakes! Gillespie couldn't have done much more. Tait is a bowler of the future without a doubt - look at the ING cup final!! Lehman was given a bum deal. Cosgrove is piling on runs in both forms (and he is young). Griffith took the most wickets of the season, yet nobody mentioned his name in running for going over to SA (or in the one-dayers). Talk about a McGrath replacement! I think that they are the major worries... The problem now is to find where (and if) they fit in... :D Nice having a lot of choice ain't it? Gives us something to talk abotu and complain about when the Aussies are losing... As in, if they picked the right side, we would have won easily... ;)

Where was Matty in the first innings huh ? Out for a duck as usual.

What about Martin.....same old same old. Useless.

And Gilly, letting us all down on another overseas jaunt yet again. he can only play at home and even then it's spasmodic to say the least.

The SA team have more problems than you can poke a stick at. That's why they are down. A good side would be a different problem altogether.

If they'd held the catches, we'd be one all. Don't get carried away you lot.

Don't forget that every ground should have a wall installed somewhere in the playing field so the obligatory one-hand-off-the-wall-is-out rule can be implemented.

Oh, also, that wall must have a window and if you break the window, you have to drop the bat and run inside pretending that you weren't playing cricket anyway - very good for the spectators... :p
