ActiveX 'Macromedia Flash Player8' safe?

Hi,
I keep getting this message when i go to websites, asking me to install ActiveX flash player. Is it completely safe and I am the only one who hasn't installed it? the sites that ask for it, dont work with out it:confused: ..

Any help or info (or reassurance:o ) would be brilliant, ta...

I've installed it and have had no problems yet. As you say there is a lot of websites that use these plugins and if you don't install them you can't se anything. I have found that it is especially large companies that use them as they have lots of money to make their websites better than the competition.

Don't worry at all Matrix. The latest flash player is quite benign. Download away!
