Many years ago annd not long after i was married, as a spontaneous romantic gesture i bought my wife a bunch of flowers on the way home from work. I handed them over to her and gave her a kiss.
I got no "thank-you" or any sort of positive response at all. She started to grill me about what i had done to make me feel guilty enough to buy her flowers. needless to say i didnt buy her another bunch of flowers till the day of her funeral http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gif

One anniversary, on the way home from work, I bought a nice bunch of flowers and a small gift. Being young'n'stupid(er) at the time, I dropped into the local for 5 mins... and I'm sure you can guess most of the rest. After closing time as I staggered down the road (no license at the time. Good ol' days? HA!) I remembered the flowers'n'stuff but by the time I got back to the pub the doors were well'n'truly shut. So I made a quick detour to the local cemetary and... well... "borrowed" a bunch.
Pity I was too sozzled to see they must've been there for a week or two.
Needless to say, I've no good memories from that night. :o

Once!
She started in...
I took the flowers and walked back out the door. Tossed the flowers in the trash. Walked back in and made myself a Martini.
Ain't happened again.
