Hi i am have trouble with end grain on a bowl any suggestions.

I am turning a bowl from blackheart sassafrass. I am tearing the end grain the bowl looked fine until i started to sand. The inside is a lot worse than the outside.:(

Small gouge, extreeeeemly sharp. Light cuts.

Baring that use a #80 gouge.;)

Thank you for the hints I will try these and other suggestions offered. One was too apply several coats of danish oil or sanding sealer then try cutting with gouge or sheer scrapeing or just sand and see what results.Another idea was to cut one way(big to small diameter) if no improvement go opposite. I will reply when I have tried all the suggestions thanks.mick
