Well here's one that is true, happened just this last week:
My cousin's 10 year old daughter has just had her first two Indonesian language lessons at school. After only two lessons and without a dictionary or word list the teacher gave the kids a two page story to translate from Indonesian to English. My cousin sent the teacher a note complaining that it was an entirely unrealistic task to set.

She wrote the note in Dutch and added a postscript in English saying that she hoped that the teacher had as much trouble translating it as the kids did their homework.:D

(I'm not the only stirrer in our family;) )

Quietly files that one away for later...

I'm thinking notes to the teacher in German or French might do the trick. :)

Traffic cop pulls up an army truck on Heathcote road, near Holsworthy army base, and accuses guy in right hand seat of speeding. "Not me, mate" says soldier. Cop claims to have timed him, etc, etc. "Not me, mate" says soldier. Cop proceeds to check license, issue ticket.

Left hand drive truck continues along Heathcote road, driver & passenger having a good chuckle.
