Gday all

Had a nice couple of days down Geelong way with the family last week, tented it, mercifully the weather was nice for us, bookended by the 40 degree days.

Went for a drive to Drysdale, and looked up Carroll's Woodcraft Supplies for a stickybeak.

Josh (my young bloke) & I met Jim & Irene, had a bit of a gasbag and a look around. I was suprised by the variety of stock on hand, finishes, wood samples, wood turning tools, clock parts, even Hegner & Delta scrollsaws for sale. Check out cws.au.com, they do internet sales also.

Had a good yak to Jim, nice fella, made us feel most welcome.

Couldn't leave without buying something, had a sniff of some Camphor Laurel blanks & couldn't leave without a chunk :) (planed it smooth when we got home, the smell is heavenly.)

The shop is on Murradoc Rd, if you forget the details when in that neck of the woods, ask someone at the newsagency where Jim Carroll lives, they'll steer you there :) (Love that about small towns)

Look them up, and support a local business, and a forum member.

Drysdale's a nice little town too :)

Cheers................Sean

I agree with you on that Sean.....lovely smell allright. Every pass of the plane brings it out afresh. They say the stuffs a weed, but its quite nice walking through forests of the stuff too....Similar sort of tea tree oil smell, mixed with fresh air.

Its a shame that it can be troublesome to work though....tears a fair bit.

I've had good service from Carrolls as well. Like the cloth backed hermes grit he sells.
:)
