I’m considering an extension and different types of construction for the external walls. I’ve got per-square-metre figures for tradesman to do timber framing, fixing blueboard etc, but don’t have anything on reinforced foundations, laying concrete blocks and rendering.

Foundations would be fully reinforced and able to support a 3 metre high concrete block wall.

Concrete blocks would be the normal 200mm x 400mm hollow style, with vertical and horizontal reinforcing and fully grouted.

Rendering would be just normal sand/cement and whatever-they-use rendering.

Does anyone have approximate prices per-square-metre for these types of construction when done by a tradesmen?

I plan on doing some of the construction myself but not sure which parts yet. The figures are to do a broad comparison between the different methods of construction for various shapes and sizes of the extension - and then to work out which bits I should do.

Found this Archicentre Cost Guide (http://www.archicentre.com.au/Aug05costguide.pdf) in PDF format dated August 2005. Although it's not specifically what I need, it's good for indicative pricing of new building, repairs, extensions etc and gives a range of prices and explains how to estimate for your city.

Also their Downloads page (http://www.archicentre.com.au/html/downloads.html) has lots of other interesting downloads includng an ebook called "The House Hiunt (http://www.archicentre.com.au/html/downloadbook.php)" which I haven't read yet.
