Have a 20 year old oak table & sideboard that has been oiled with Mobil "Flurit" a few times. I need to reroute some small areas that have been chewed by a dog and sand as the grain has lifted to a rough finish. There are also very dark areas where oil has been applied over dirty wood.<o:p></o:p>

I am looking to revert to a lighter colour as repeated applications of this oil brings out grain but goes darker on each application. <o:p></o:p>

I could sand back or just lightly sand and then apply some form of oil / wax or poly.<o:p></o:p>
