I suspect that the answer is: depends if the design of your dishwasher requires the end returns to seal the door?

You might get more conclusive answers if you let people know the make and model of the dishwasher.
Also has the part been supplied as a replacement for your make and model by Genuine Appliance Parts ?

Thanks for the response.

I checked the GAP website for all the variations on the model number for Dishlex Global 300.
All of them show the gasket is without the end returns.

Nothing on their website mentioned the gasket has been superseded and can use the gasket without the end returns.

I rang before ordering the first one and discussed at length the end returns.
I was convinced at that time the end returns gasket was in their hands.

The first one from Genuine Appliance Parts did NOT have the end returns.
$20 return postage.

The second one with the end returns is too long.

So deduced it was not the actual genuine part for my model.

So now Instead of paying another $20 return postage for parts I can't use.

I want to snip off the end returns and leave the gasket in as is.

I checked the GAP website for all the variations on the model number for Dishlex Global 300.
All of them show the gasket is without the end returns.

Nothing on their website mentioned the gasket has been superseded.
Nor if I can use the gasket without the end returns instead.

Not sure what else you can do except install the new, modified if need be, and see how it performs, perhaps outside in case there's leaks

Thanks for the reply.

I'm testing it now without modification.
Leaving the end returns out of the way of the door.
So far so good.
