Hello woodworkers,

I’m the daughter of a talented and avid woodcraftsman in Sydney.

Sadly now winding up his estate. My father’s workshed has all manner of tools and machinery, and unfortunately he didn’t have time to label or catalogue his stuff.

Looking for advice on how to value the machinery and tools.

For example he has a Hyco bandsaw and 2 Paul Call machines with codes CL 3.11.8 and CS 3.11.8 and lots of other bits and pieces.

Much appreciate you advice, thanks Woodygirl

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum ......
There are a stack members in and around Sydney, across NSW plus the rest of Australia and the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum......
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

PS - Sorry for your dad's passing "Woodygirl"
On your questions on the tool, machinery and other bits & pieces in his shed add a new thread with photos and description requesting assistance in the "General Section"
That way you'll get a wider audience and thus more likely to get the answers to your items you're looking to have questions sorted.

I appreciate the difficulty in "assessing" your father's workshop tools. Your best bet is to find somebody locally with the expertise to assist you and somebody from the Forum may be able to help in this regard. Much will depend on your level of patience when disposing of the equipment, assuming that is your objective.

Certainly, items can be posted in the Forum Marketplace (see the top of the page) and the equipment can be posted in other locations too. However, some of those (Facebook, Gumtree etc, without wishing to denigrate those facilities in any way) can be a little "challenging" with time wasters and spammers. Having said that, nothing is immune. have a look at The Marketplace (https://www.woodworkforums.com/f221) to gain some idea of how items are offered for sale and check out the Forum rules too.

I am not sure of the rules when posting pictures on the Forum as a newcomer, but my impression is that, while not immediately available to you, this is a formality restriction that is soon removed. Keep posting information and replies. The moderators can also step in as appropriate.

Regards and good luck.
Paul
