Hi,Got new Spotted Gum decking - laid em out to see what I had and in the sun some boards have faded where I had clamps on and where some ends were sticking out of the stacks leaving an obvious colour difference. Do I need to sand the whole board back to get an even colour ? OR put em back in the sun which will even them out ? OR use deck clean ?TIASam

Yes, but you need to either leave the deck to weather first, which should even it out or if you want to oil it straight up, you should use deck clean on it first.
So which ever way you go, it will get there eventually.

And then they will bow/cup and crack.... eventually.

Ok ? Are you saying not to worry about the colour difference because they'll bow etc or they'll bow etc because of something to do with the colour difference ?

Colour difference won’t make one bit of difference to timber bowing or cupping, timber is a natural product, if it is secured and screwed straight properly, it shouldn’t cup or bow.
Also Spotted Gum in WA where Rod is from is usually lemon scent gum whereas spotted gum from the east coast is usually corymbia maculata
