Hi everyone,
My name is Dougal and I moved back to Australia last year after being overseas for work for 8 years.
I developed an interest in woodworking when my kids were small and built mainly utilitarian things for around the house (shelving, chicken coops, dog kennels and the like), and mostly using the tried and trusty Triton 2000 Workcentre, plus a few hand tool projects like my workbench.
Living OS it wasn't possible to keep up with the hobby but now I've moved back into the family home and reacquainted myself with my shed I'm keen to get going again. As I get older I've developed some hearing loss so this time around I want to focus more on hand tool work for reduced noise and also dust. I'm still going to spin up the power tools when needed but want to develop some more traditional skills for when I retire in a few years. One of my first tasks is to learn hand saw sharpening and I'm acquiring the bits and bobs needed including a few old beater panel saws for practice.
Looking forward to learning and contributing to the forums.
Cheers
