For those interested I was taken to hospital on Tue with an abscess in the bum.
It had been developing for a week giving me headaches and fever.
I thought I just had the flu.
Turns out it was "toxi something or other...
They drained 600ml:eek: of gunk out and I now have a 2.5cm slit into me with 1mtr of gauze stuffed in.
The gauze is changed daily and it hurts.
Sorry I can not play any more as too sick .

My deepest sympathy David. 2 1/2 years ago had bowel untwisted and a total anal reconstruction.
Pain should ease up in 3-4 weeks. :D

Words you do not want to hear from a doc.
" We might give you a local but due to the acid nature of the skin there, it may not work well".
Thankfully I had a general.

Yeh. I think they removed both feet and part of a leg. (In joke)
I am going to put it down to the fever, headache and lack of sleep that week.
I was in pretty bad pain.
Can't send you a reddie as I love you all. (Insert group cuddle)

Time to go and see Brokeback Mountain, know how they feel all the time:rolleyes:
Trust you get over it soon, I had a haemmeroid (sp) lanced a few years ago and that was painfull enough.
I often wonder why something the size of a small pea feels like a tractor innertube hanging out:o

Dave, get well soon. Enjoy the rest (and hopefully painkillers?).
The rest of you, I just ate dinner and I'd like it to go out where you are so colourfully explaining if you don't mind...

DG mate I know how you feel... nov 04 I had an op to remove a ingrown hair that turned into a cyst.
The hair had grown inwards and grown around my spine(tail bone...)
I only discovered it after popping the cyst at the gym on a leg press pushing 360kg's, the doc reckoned it was there for at least 10yrs to be that size... they removed all of it, the size of a baseball!(the amount they removed not the size of the cyst)
I didnt return to work until Aug 05 and then remained on light dutys for 2mths(yep thats 9mths out of action)and I still cant ride my bike or sit in one position for more than 1/2hr. I've been back at the gym now since oct05 and only just getting back to 360kg's on the leg press!
1 good thing become of it tho... because I couldnt sit for long I had a great excuse to take up wood work... now it just about dictates my life, I do much OT to pay for my WW habit!(nuthin wrong with that eh!)

DavidG,
I just tried to send you a greenie to make up for the reddie i sent you last week. With that amount of infection in your system you would not have been thinking clearly and would have been in a lot of pain as well. The system wont let me send you a greenie just yet but i will send you one soon. all the best for the recovery and keep the feet in the right placehttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon10.gif
