Refitted this bathroom door yesterday after installing the leadlight my wife designed and made.
Client brief was to receate (on a MUCH smaller scale, LOL) a Matisse church stained glass window in France that the clients love.
Brand new home so I collected the existing door and trimmed out the existing MDF panel, and cut a rebate. I had no idea that new doors are so, so crappy, with a soft fibrous MDF face and particle board inside. To top it off the bottom was not painted and in the few weeks since moving in the bottom had blown up with moisture.
Had to make a moulding to hold the glass in to match the door as best I could and paint.
As the last one to touch the door I would be deemed responsible so had to do whatever it took to get it perfect.
