View Full Version : Recycled jarrah bench seat

Hi, Last year we got some recycled jarrah timber and used it to build a garden shed that looks great. I use Cabot's timber oil to keep it looking good. There is still some timber left (2 by 2.5 inches) and we want to sand this back, attach to limestone blocks and use as a bench seat. I have sanded it using 40 and 80 grit paper and want to know what finishing I need to do next to make sure no-one gets splinters in their hands (or other parts) I was hoping to oil it as well to tie in with garden shed. Any suggestions?

hi Moors, there was a thread about this - very similar - not long before xmas. If you search for splinters, you should be able to find it and other good info.

Yes, Oil the seat. And pretty please, post a picture when you're done. I'd love to see the Jarrah seat, freshly oiled, on the Limestone blocks.
