I have been asked by a few friends to make subwoofer cabinets for their car stereo systems. I used to have a set of tables fo calculating the size of an optimal enclosures for each particular speaker, which are now long gone.
Does anyone know where I could get a set of these tables or even better is there a program that can do it??
Thanks in advance!

A lot of speaker manufacturers offer design options for their product, sealed or vented enclosures etc etc....
BUt in a car, does it really matter, a sound system bigger than I use in my home in an area smaller than my dunny:confused: with worse acoustics.

with worse acoustics. It is surprising how good some of the high-end car systems sound. The reason my friend is putting a system in his car is for "sound off" competitions. ie. he who has the loudest system wins. There are several different types of woofer enclosure that you can use, each one for a specific purpose.
Cliff, spent quite a while googling this afternoon and found some okay info, but still not as good as the tables I used to have.

WB "sound off" is usually associated with sound quality not how loud, its more like named "db drag" or just plain "SPL comp".
A good PC program is WinISD http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=winisd
Or if your really keen you could try BassBoxPro but thats no free'bee...

Is one of those enclosure types "Bandpass"? If pure SPL is the most important factor, a bandpass cabinet if deasigned correctly exhibit increased efficiency compared to a vented or sealed cab. Luckily for you, The Winisd program mentioned by Harry72 is capable of simulating all of these types of enclosures.
Regarding the tables you used to have, do you remember which allignment they were for? I've got a whole bunch of tables but without knowing which ones you're after, I could end up sending you something that's not what you're looking for.
