Got a couple of early Christmas presents this year!:) On Thursday afternoon a cabinetmaker I know came by and took my old table saw off my hands, so $2.5K to spend and 2.5 square metres of extra space in the shed.:D
It's been terribly dry here, had almost no rain for a few months. Now for you southerners this may sound fairly normal, but in the tropics with the sun being a lot closer (or more direct, anyway) things dry out terribly quickly. I've lost count of how many fires I've had to attend this season. For the last fortnight I've jumped every time my phone has rung, as I'm expecting a fire call every time.:( So Friday morning I awoke to one of the sweetest sounds - rain! :) Then later in the day it bucketted down for a bit and we totalled 81mm for the day which spells a reprieve for all the plants in our garden that were dying (most of them  ) and signals the end of this year's fire season in our district.:) So all in all a it's shaping up nicely for Christmas.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, Vrolijk Kerst, Felice Navidad, Frollich Weinacht, Joyeaux Noel and a Happy New Year. And for those of you that want a PC, non religious greeting, I say to you: Have a Happy Holyday!:D

Shalom to you too:D :D
Have a good one, from the other tropical area. 35 plus yesterday and bucketed down last night just after we finished the last load of hay.

Merry Christmas Mick & family. Glad you won't be getting any fire callouts today, enjoy putting your feet up.

My Christmas prezzy from daughter is a voucher for a rafting trip with her...on the Barron River. I have to deliver some Chistmas present cabinets to her in Townsville, so might just continue north then, rather than wait 'til the big trip up in April-May.

Have a great Christmas, Mick and Mrs Mick - and a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Just got back from a very pleasant Christmas lunch at a hotel with my wife and daughter (my son is zooming down a mountain in British Columbia on a snowboard). Quick afternoon snooze and then off to see the rellies this evening.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my mates on the forums. Talk to you over the next couple of days!
