View Full Version : Is there any way to "block" a particular member?

I'm having problems with one particularly difficult member. He's commented on a couple of my threads and each time the experience was so disagreeable that I ended up "unsubscribing" from my own thread. He's just done it again and this time I've specifically asked him to refrain from commenting in any of my threads in the future. The experience is becoming so bad that he's taking the joy I get from sharing my woodworking adventure with fellow members to the point that I'm seriously contemplating becoming just a "lurker" again. So, is there a way from blocking a particular user from commenting on threads I've created?

Click on his forum name and select profile and down the list you will see ignore this member. You will always see where he contributes to threads but the message is hidden but you can then elect to read the message from where the message would normally be without unblocking him.

Thanks Chris.

So, am I right in thinking that it won't stop him from posting in my threads but I just won't see what he's written? That may be enough but could prove confusing if other members reply to his posts which I wouldn't have read. It's better than nothing I suppose. I'm off to give it a try. Hopefully it provides a respite to the madness.

Thanks again,
Mike

I've just done it and I see now how "ignoring" someone works. It even hides his past posts but I'll still see what he's written if people quote him in their replies. I guess the solution would be if for everyone to ignore him, but I'm not here to tell other people what they should and shouldn't do. It may be better if I get him to put me in his Ignore List as well.
