So latest project; i'm turning this ikea play kitchen (https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/duktig-play-kitchen-birch-40319973/) into a real kitchen for my toddler including working taps. This means there will be water spilled and splashed around the place.
The ikea website says this about the basematerial
Basematerial:
Fibreboard, Birch plywood, Paint, Clear acrylic lacquer
My Question is, will this hold up with some spashes of water? We will clean the splashes within a few minutes of happening but the wood where the sink is will get wet. The apperance of the wood is glossy so i'm assuming its had atleast a light coat.
If it won't Can i just apply something over it? or do i need to sand it back and start again?
Thanks!!
