Well, after the trials and tribulations of the home reno....the deck was finally waterproofed and oiled on the weekend.
All of the bearers that were used were once the bearers on the patio on the house before the reno and were well over 40 years old.
The boards are all reeded jarrah, laid flat side up.
If you can guess the decking oil used 5 greenies will come your way.... take your best shot.

"Wood-man's Timber Finishes" a water based oil from Bunno's.
I dont think this would be correct though as it has a honey color to it. But it is good stuff.

Maybe i put that wrong!!! I think your job looks great , very uniform . I was taught to stagger the joins , although i see your lengths are all the same so you have many joins . Just the brickwork look is not my cuppa tea...
But you guys are all the experts on here , thats why you all go on about how you make no $on your jobs and i make $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .

Thanks to all that had a try.....
The majority of the timber is under cover but we do get a fair bit of wind down this way.
A good mate of mine suggested a couple of products (thanx Phill) so i thought i would try them out on a couple of similar colored pieces of jarrah i had in the shed.
I was very impressed with the finish, even tho the product isnt generally recognised as a decking oil.
The product i used was this stuff......the waterseal was used as the first coat and the Penetrol as the second.
Thanks to all that had a go and a greenie will be coming your way
Steve
