Looking for recommendations for spraying some solid timber which will form a window surround, and wall end linings, and a slatted deck floor in a shower. Something that won’t peel with hot water? My initial thoughts are 2 pack polyurethane but welcome for other suggestions, thanks.

I am no expert here but if you look at any spa's and saunas you will find that Cedar is the timber of choice and i believe unfinished to allow any moisture drawn in to evaporate easy.

I have seen various timbers coated with poly products, these coatings will eventually crack and break down and the timber turn Grey.

We have a small jarrah/oregon wooden framed window in our shower.
It's finished with two pack poly.

Its been in that location since 1995 and was refinished in 2002 after we were away for 9 months and (despite being told not to) the house occupants used the window frame to store shampoo and conditioner etc. This damaged the finish so I sanded it back and applied new finish.

It gets some water on the shelf every time someone showers and this pic shows the extent of the water damage in 19 years

But as for slatted deck floor - I suggest no finish as the soaps etc will make a mess of any finish.

I would be leaning towards this style of product Deks Olje D1 - Marine Varnish | Classic Boat Supplies (https://shop.classic-boat-supplies.com.au/boat-building-maintenance/paints-finishes/deks-olje-d1-marine-wood-varnish-matte/)
