I have a pair of solid silky oak bookcases that I have neglected for a few years and I think they need a bit of TLC surface wise.

The authenticity certificate that I got with the cases said that they should be recoated with a Danish Oil applied with a soft cloth.

I have a few Ubeaut products that I have purchased over the years for woodturning but have also picked up some of their other products just in case at the Timber Shows.

Is there a Ubeaut equivalent to Danish Oil.

If I don't have any on my shelves, I will have to order some. My shed is about a 10 min drive from my house so I don't know what I have on the shelf while I type this thread.

Cheers

You can make your own Danish Oil, and you may already have the required components.

The typical recipe is:
-1/3 polyurethane varnish
-1/3 white spirits, mineral spirits, paint thinners, denatured alcohol or mineral turps
-1/3 boiled linseed oil, tung oil, walnut oil or similar

mpot,
Thanks for that recipe, I cleaned down the 1st bookcase on the weekend and gave it a coat of homemade danish today.

It came up a treat..almost looks like new.
