Hi all.
I've been a keen tinkerer with wood and metal work for a while. I made a workbench for me, and a bed for my son a few years ago (just made it up as I went along, and both projects turned out OK) and was hooked.
I've always wanted to try woodturning and have just picked up a Woodfast MC908 which I'm stoked about.
Anybody in the Frankston area feel up to giving a beginner an intro into woodturning?
Anyway I'm looking forward to enjoying this forum as a resource for my woodworking future.
Cheers all,
Tony

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Tony"....
There are a stack members around Melbourne and cross Victoria plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers crowie

PS - Watch out for local Melbourne get togethers, great way to meet like minded forum members & network...

Tony, welcome to the forum.

A short bicycle ride from Frankston will get you to Langwarrin.

Regular daytime meetings with demonstrations are held every Wednesday from 13:00 hrs onwards.

Plus you have access to a very well equipped shop where you can learn and practice under guidance from more experienced turners.
