Hi all,

just wondering what wood coating (finishing) you guys are using ? I've tried quite a few recently (near and far) and just thought rather than continually testing and trying i'd go for some advice from more experienced people !:U

I'm currently using quite a lot of Sayerlack (Sherwin): Sayerlack Wood Coatings | Lacquer & Polyester (https://www.ultrimaxstore.com/sayerlack-b-8) - seems to work great on any interior finishes like cabinets, kitchen refurbs etc through a Graco pump. External joinery though haven't had much luck seems a completely different game? any suggestions for external joinery especially where a strong colour for durability is needed (grey's normally when a colour match is requested?)

any help appreciated

br

Andy

Varnish and wax finishes goes well for me. I normally use Wacto Wipe on Poly for varnish and American decor for wax finishes. Above all tung oil or boiled linseed oil is something that gives the most penetrating finishes with a ultimate sheen.

do you tend not to finish with spray like a lacquer and stick to waxs and polishes by hand ? I'm doing a lot of high gloss so think wax etc may be out
