That’s only one question. There will be an IT expert forumite along soon who knows these things, I’ve had assistances from several over the years.

First question.

In Settings which is the second one along from Notifications in your screenshot.

Select Settings under DBTech - Post Thanks

And check that the Disable Notifications box is not checked.

Second question

If you want to post replies to multiple posts you can select them by clicking the multi quote button https://www.woodworkforums.com/images/buttons/multiquote-back_40b.png. This button will change to indicate that you've selected it. Clicking post reply will then bring you to the full editor with all the posts quoted.

Thanks for the quick response DJ.

Here is a screenshot of my current settings, as you can see I have not disabled notifications.

I have tried using the multi-quote button as you suggested, but it does not work. When I click post reply a blank reply screen appears.

I am using Mozilla Firefox 81.0.2, could this be a security setting causing these issues?

I’ve just checked every post made by you in that thread and there are no likes/thanks etc against any of your posts, so you wouldn’t have got any notifications from that thread.

As far as I’m aware, Notifications are only to notify you for likes, thanks etc and for Private Messages. Not for subscribed threads.

As for the multi quote thing, it may well be settings in your browser, I will give it a test now in this thread.

Thanks DJ for looking on to this.
I just tried a different browser - Waterfox - and I can multi-quote. A little tick appears when I click the multi-quote button, this does not happen when I use Firefox, obviously a settings/security issue.
I thought that you would receive a notification for a new post, maybe I'm wrong........... again.
Would you mind liking one of my posts here, or in the kitchen reno thread, even if you don't mean it :D.

Hmmm...

I'm quite used to multi-quotes, but from idle curiosity I tried again just now and they're not working.

I noticed that the multi-quote icon isn't changing form, either.

Might be a bug in the forum, might be a bug in the browser. I'm using Firefox on PC. Needs looking into.

Edit: Seeing GJ's last post, I'm guessing it's Firefox.

Hey Andy as shown in John’s post below, it looking more like a setting in Firefox rather than a forum bug.

Thanks DJ, the like notification came through on both Firefox and Waterfox. I've been having other issues with Firefox since their latest update, looks like time for a change.
