Yes! Travelers Beware!

You can't make stuff like this up.

Within the standard approach to Los Angeles International Airport, two airline pilots reported seeing someone in a jet pack flying at about 3,000 feet (almost 1,000 M). The pilots reporting were pilots for American Airlines and Jet Blue. One of the things that the control tower was quoted as saying, "Only in LA."

This rans up there in stupidity with the guy in the folding aluminum / webbing beach chair that floated aloft while being lifted with a series of Helium filled balloons. (Lawn Chair Larry, July 2, 1982)

Being Aussie, I sniff "sucked in" all over this post. :D

Just not sure if it's the jet pack pilot being sucked into a jet engine, or us !

The story is very true - various official advisories to pilots have been issued warning them to keep a sharp lookout when approaching LAX

At least the tower believed the pilots. IIRC No one believed the initial Lawn Chair Larry reports.

Now if jet pack man gets hit by an airliner, he surely would be the winner of the Darwin Awards for 2020.

Although the normal candidate for a Darwin Award usually starts the sequence by saying, "Hey, Y'all. Watch this."
