Hi guys, I was registered many years ago and have returned, perhaps wiser and certainly with more splinters. I mainly strive to do small furniture projects around the house but specialise in making sawdust and shavings. My current project and reason for re-kindling my place on the forum is a simple floating shelf in the kitchen to hide an ugly tile edge and maybe store the car keys and other treasures. While searching for suitable timber "in stock" in the shed I found a board labelled Malaysian rose wood, after getting the nod of approval from the warden I cleaned it up and set to getting it to size. Then I googled maylasian rose wood and now Im worried it's not the best use of such a sweet piece of lumber. Especialy if i drill dirty big holes in the thing for the steel rods to make it float... once i get my head around posting photos i will show off the board and some other projects that keep me off the streets. Glad to be back and looking forward to gleaning more knowledge from the fine folk here. Cheers fj

I had never heard of Booragul until now. Just looked it up, nice part of the world I reckon. Welcome back to the forum. Hope your shelf works out to the satisfaction of your warden.
