Not sure what has happened but for some time I no longer see emoji's either in my own posts nor in anyone else's posts. I didn't change any settings in my user profile and was wondering if it is something that happened during an update. I have checked through my settings but can't see anywhere that this can be changed.
I hope there is just a simple answer that I'm missing.

I’m assuming you mean the ones as shown in this thread that you commented in. Little necklace / pen box (https://www.woodworkforums.com/f87/little-necklace-pen-box-235396)
That would be because he used emojis from his keyboard and not forum based emojis.
For example you should see this one as two thumbs up :2tsup: which is from this forum.

I don't know if I'm imagining things but I seem to be seeing everyone else's emojis now. The reason I started this thread is because of this thread TRA001 Spindle runout (https://www.woodworkforums.com/f15/tra001-spindle-runout-235331#post2193580) where I put in some sad faces and they just appeared as symbols, which they still are and they were inserted from the selection available. Not seeing emojis in other people's posts has been happening for a while.

:(:(:(:(
wondering if at the start of a line matters. Lets see.
I'm testing from a Windows PC using Edge. One last test I can think is if there's nothing else in the reply. Testing that next. OK that test passed too. They were manually typed : then (

Well I went back and edited the post I linked to and the emojis appeared this time, so I'm stumped. I will keep my eye on things and see if it returns.

It looks like my problem has returned.
The studying is going well, thank you for asking, 3 papers done, 12 to go. Seems like it will still be a very long time before I can afford to spend more of my free time in the garage [emoji849]
