Ive been reading these for a while now and figured I should say High.

Im no expert in wood or metal and my jobs are acceptable at best but I love returning old scrap tools or timber to a useable glory. Done mainly to show the kids that despite its age or look it can be used again not just thrown away,

Until recently my tools have taken a side role in the shed due to roof leaks cars and cockroaches but now I find myself in a 6 car garage with ample room for my toys to be set up:U:U

As far as tools go my First old faithfull table saw is a Craftmaster 1984 "ctsc-10" that I found in a very poor state until i got my hands on it. I cant find any details on it online but she hums now

After a full strip down, bearings redone and repaint she actually came good apart from the fence which is great for rough ripping before squaring up. But she works well for a 38yr old girl.
The feet I also added some wheels and footings to enable a bit of mobility to it as seen below.

Not bad for $90 and some time, paint and bearings but I have replaced it nearly with a scary table saw with a nice T fence but that is a work in progress as during the last move I lost some spacers that lock it into position when tilting, these I will have to remake on the lathe at work. This saw has a strange ability that allows you to release the blade and slide it forward within the table saw creating a under table docking saw SCARY for fingers but hay I don't have to release it.
So far the body and the cast iron top have been cleaned treated and are ready for reassembly. I also added my custom footings and lockable wheels once again for mobility even with it being over 200kg.

Other projects include the now operational router table that has a home made height adjust and space to hold all the crap associated with it as seen below made from scrap timber from pallets and some offcuts I had around the shed. Oh the top is a $10 sheet of formwork ply for concreting from bunnings I love this stuff spill paint on it and it peals off as soon as its dry. I added the t-track and basic plate from Timbecon but built the height adjust from scratch Yes the router is now dedicated to it since it now cant be removed. router was $15 at a garage sale

Another prize find is an old planner 200 that is full cast Iron and works a treat that when coupled with an old thicknesser I got for 100 that now works a treat allows me to cleanup and use alot of the pallet timber I get from overseas at work

Yes these two still havnt had a facelift but they are operational and I cant afford to tear them down and not use them

Apart from these I have the carbatec drill press $100 Linisher $90 Bandsaw $120 etc all found on Gumtree in an abused state that have all received an injection of TLC to be more then usable again

For now most of what I do in the limited time I get to play is orientated to setting up my shed but as you can see below you can still have fun using some Italian hardwood pallets to make a holder for your Dado set

Well that is me sorta in a nut shell im no expert but as I was taught "If some one has done it before there is no reason you cant"

I think you are underselling yourself in the description of the work you have carried out so far. If you have done that work with limited facilities in the past it will be great to see what you can achieve with your new palace. Sounds like you work in a place with good timber for you to pick up and ability to do some metal machining.
Welcome aboard.
