Time to hit the sack boys but before I go I just wanted to say thanks for a very odd evening. :D

When I wake up tomorrow, it will all seem like a bad dream. ;)

I think amongst all the posts, somebody actually mentioned wood.

No doubt they will either be deleted or moved to the sealed section.:D

I think you'll find they're both gone. I wonder how many of us were truly sober last night, or was it just stress relief to find some of the humour back?:D

I think we should just start again here!

:D :D :D :D :D

Nothing odd about last night, it's been the last few weeks/months that've been decidedly odd.

Exactly!

Good to see some normality return to the forums. :D

So the Gods moved slower on the second one.:D :D :D

Termite, I was sober but so very happy because it was the first Thursday night I wasn't out since April.

Pity the humour has gone again, maybe next Thursday night we can repeat same, as I don't have to go out then either.:D

Ok boys and girls. I know that baiting is a favourite sport amongst some of you.

I have as good if not better sense of humour than most. The trouble is that every thread that starts off humourous degenerates into smut.

Sorry I don't find smut amusing anymore.

We gave you a forum where you can say what you like in the hope that you would leave most of the others alone but you still invade the other forums.

I eased off in the editing and I think some sensed it and went overboard. Guess what it may get worse.

I was well and truly off last night after working 18 hours and coming home to the drivel, dribble, garbage and utter crap that filled 2/3rds of the forum that some call humour.

I had hoped that Gumby was right. A bad dream and it would be fine and all gone in the morning. Wrong, it was still here.

If you wish this forum to self destruct keep going the way some of you are and it surely will.

Ouch, the teacher's back and whacked me. :(

OK, point taken.

For my part in that , please accept my apologies. I had a hard day at the office too and was just letting of some steam. I know I go overboard sometimes (often?) but I do try and stay within the boundaries. That's one reason I don't subscribe to the password forum. Believe it or not, i was completely sober, just damn tired and a bit stressed. I don't mean to add to the stress of the forum keeprs.

From here on, only a good, helpful Gumby will be present. Woodwork only, no more shinanigans. :o

Ok, I agree that not enough rod can spoil a bloody good forum, but by the same token too much rod can do the same thing.
I don't envy you the juggling act , and by the way thanks for all your efforts.

The problem with the no smut rule is that I've got nothing to contribute.

Mea culpae.:o My apologies too.:o

However with anything a bit controversial being transferred to the sealed section I think the nature of the Board is changing, and IMHO not for the better.

Now I'll accept my punishment and voluntarily retire to the time out corner. :o

The tirade was levelled at no one in particular. I was tired and generally peed off with a lot of things and should have waited to post.

Under normal circumstances I would have deleted most of them but with the new thread there it is easier to shift the whole thread.

In some ways I agree that the board is changing and I think it is akin to people that work or socialise with each other. You get to know each other fairly well with each knowing what pushes the others buttons but some have forgotten that this is a public place.

Just remember that you are not yakking at the office or in the backyard.

G'day ,

You have a pretty thankless task; one that you manage with aplomb. It has to be pretty difficult to manage the fine balancing act between permitting humour and some restrained ribaldry, but that is also appropriate for a public forum such as this.

I for one thank you for your efforts.http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/images/icons/icon14.gif

Cheers!
