Hey Guys

My wife and I just came back from Tasmania with a big piece of Huon Pine for some wall art.
I have never worked with Timber in my life or sanded anything (I know).

We want the timber to come out natural and not look orange or so shinny you can see your reflection in it.

Anyone able to tell me how to achieve this? Please pretend like your explaining it to a child.

Hello Blythy

Welcome to the forums.

Unfortunately your Huon Pine will end up orange colour sooner or later. To my knowledge there is no way to stop this happening.

Have done lots of experiments with UV filters and none really worked over a long period and most not even over a relative short period.

Cheers - Neil :U

Hi Blythy. It depends on what you want to do to your bit of huon. Are you going to sand it or just nail it to your wall as it is?.
